After fifty years of trial and effort, with some hits and a few misses, I’m often asked why people write in 2024.

I can’t answer for everyone obviously, but here are two commonly cited reasons why our creative spirit finds an outlet in writing.

Some informed opinions believe that with the rise of the internet, and the opportunities it provides, there’s never been a better time to be a writer.

With perseverance and writing content readers are looking for to be entertained, informed, or to enrich their lives, some writers may even be paid for their work.

Then, many write because the need to write is in their soul. It’s an essential part of their life.

Writing is a daily habit and writers are unfulfilled if they don’t feed their addiction.

So, why do you write in the digital age?
