I always thought I would die with my strong opinions.

And yet, I find myself being more nuanced as I get older. It happened again today. I came across this essay.

I just started that I couldn’t wait to leave a salty comment.

I don’t know what to think about it yet.

That’s why I ended up saying to myself.

It got me thinking:

  • Why should we have a strong opinion on everything?
  • Who said that we couldn’t say “I don’t know”?

Or even better:

  • Why should we have to react immediately?

The truth is, you don’t have to say anything.

Give yourself room to think. Look at the other side of the story. Leave yourself space in case you want to change your mind.

Old beliefs shouldn’t define who you’re turning into.
