There is no Frigate like a book
To take us lands away
Nor coursers like a page
Of prancing poetry —
This traverse may the poorest take
Without oppress of Toll —
How frugal is the Chariot
That bears the human soul —

The first time I read There is no Frigate Like a Book by Emily Dickinson, I smiled. Finally, I thought to myself, someone gets it.

Why? Because I love diving into new worlds, experiencing them, and coming back a changed person. Time and money, though, are not on my side. So, books are my portal into “lands away.”
