You Cannot Produce Light Without Casting a Shadow
It’s our struggles that make us stronger
Think about what’s wrong with you. Think about a personality quirk you’ve struggled with.
Perhaps you’re especially introverted and have a hard time socialising. I’m guessing you’re also incredibly thoughtful.
Or maybe you struggle to stand up for yourself during an argument. I’m guessing you’re also very compassionate.
My point is that your personality strengths and weaknesses aren’t mutually exclusive. They are intimately tied.
The issue with fixating on what’s wrong is that we forsake what is right. We can obsess to the point of disowning all that is good.
It’s important to recognise and work on our weaknesses; however, we have to see them in the light of our strengths.
You cannot produce light without casting a shadow.
The trick is to be grateful, to see how our weaknesses have given us our strengths, how they have challenged us to evolve, allowing our talents to shine even brighter.
