NYCFC’s first employee, Claudio Reyna will be responsible for the recruitment of players, coaches and trainers, and other support staff, in preparation for the NYCFC’s inaugural MLS season in 2015.

When his role was announced, Reyna said “ “Having had the privilege of playing both for my country here in the US and for Manchester City, I could not have hoped for a more tailored-made opportunity in soccer.”

No stranger to fans of the beautiful game, Reyna played in Europe for Bayer Leverkusen and Vfl Wolfsburg, Glasgow Rangers F.C., Sunderland FC and Manchester City FC. He also represented the United States Men’s National Team in four World Cups from 1994 through 2006, wearing the captain’s armband in 2002 and 2006.
Before his retirement in 2008, Claudio played his last professional season in United States with NY Red Bulls.
