Did Google’s recent update ruin your blog, too? Here’s what I’m doing

Google recently did a Google.

Big G, which is what I like to call the company, released an update in mid-September that crippled many niche blogs, mine included.

My blog’s traffic dropped severely. It went from hundreds of daily visitors to less than 50 basically overnight.

At first, I thought it was my fault and I did something wrong. That’s usually the case.

But after discovering Google’s update and how I wasn’t alone, it all started to become clear to me.

So here I am, nearly a month later, and my niche blog’s traffic is down. This is what I plan on doing next.

1) Don’t panic

I’d be outright lying if I said this was the first time Big G flipped a switch and all my search traffic dropped off the face of the planet.

I’ve seen this before, and in all honesty, I’m not worried. Not at all.

I’ve seen my traffic dip and recover so many times at this point that it’s almost expected. If my traffic just kept going up and my blog grew exponentially, I’d start to worry. Sadly, success with Google scares me more than failure.
