How to use Fiverr’s Seller Plus to boost your Fiverr orders and revenue

Seller Plus is a hotly debated topic in the Fiverr freelance community. Many question whether, as well as giving Fiverr 20% of our earnings, we should also have to pay for extra support — is it just another way for Fiverr to get extra money out of freelancers?

Well…..

yes is the short answer. It is of course another way for Fiverr to make money, seeing as they are a publicly traded company and their immediate loyalties lie with their shareholders.

However, there are some huge benefits that come from seller plus and one of the biggest is in-depth keyword research tools and statistics.

Therefore, I encourage you to view Seller Plus as a business re-investment.

In this blog, I’ll take you through what these tools look like and how I have used them this week to create a brand new gig as well as a plan to tweak an old gig to boost orders.

Top Keywords

So below is an image of the main analytics page. All sellers have this but Seller Plus members have access to 2 extra pages which are circled in red:

This is the “Top Keywords” page:

This page is absolutely excellent because it shows the main keywords people are typing into Fiverr to find your gig!

Now the image you see above has my audiobook narration gig selected at the moment. This is where it gets really interesting and why Seller Plus is so valuable.

I found when looking at this that the number one keyword that shows my gig is “audiobook editing” as opposed to “audiobook narration”, as I expected. As you can see from above, in the last 60 days my gig was shown from that keyword search 753 times and produced 23 clicks!

I don’t offer any purely editing services at all through my audiobook narration gig so I have instantly missed out on the potential business of 23 people!

That’s potentially a large amount of revenue, especially if the books that need editing are lengthy.

So this nifty little tool has shown me instantly where I can increase my revenue with skills that I already have!

So, next week my plan is to add an audiobook editing-only package to my audiobook narration gig to capture more of those people that are viewing and clicking because of that keyword.

That may well capture some of those clicking on my gig for audiobook editing. however, I can’t offer expansive editing services under that gig because it is a narration-focused gig when all is said and done and I don’t want potential clients to be confused over my main offering.

So, I had a brainwave!

I can create a specific audiobook editing gig where I can offer expanded audiobook editing services and then…….

Drum Roll Please…….

Add a link to this gig in my audiobook narration gig!

So, my plan is to explain in the first line of my narration gig that; if you are looking for audiobook editing services only then just click on this link to go to my editing-specific gig.

This will allow me to benefit from the traffic generated by the success of my narration gig and feed it through to my new gig as well as capture the traffic coming through that is looking for editing services only.

Hopefully, once I start getting orders and feedback on my editing gig it will start to generate its own traffic as well and orders and revenue should increase.

Keyword research

So that brings me to the second title that is only available for Seller Plus members — “Keyword Research”

If you are creating a new gig or trying to optimise an existing one then this tool is absolutely invaluable.

The first step to getting orders on any gig is to get impressions — i.e. you want your gig showing up as much as possible when people search for certain terms.

This is where the keyword Research page comes in handy.

As you can see from the image above, you can really get very specific with the categories that you are searching for keywords for.

So when I was creating my new audiobook editing gig I performed the search above. From my research in the first part of this blog, I already knew that “audiobook editing” was the main keyword to target. However, “audio book” is ranked number 4 and has medium competition so this was another keyword worth targeting.

I then changed the subcategory to see if there were any other keywords I could target:

I selected the subcategory “audio editing” and found another high-ranked, medium competition keyword — “audio repair”

So now I had a list of keywords I wanted to target, the next step was to make sure I got them into the following areas of my gig:

Title

Description

Tags

FAQ’s

Audio, and image files

Of course, Fiverr doesn’t allow you to “keyword stuff” and too much use of one term will mean you can’t save and update the gig.

However, writing a well-thought-out description “sprinkling” in these keywords in different ways is a great way to maximise your chances of getting impressions on your new gig.

The new gig has been live for 2 days so far. I will write an update in a couple of weeks or so when the Fiverr algorithm has had a chance to properly rank my gig to see how it is performing.

Conclusion

So I highly recommend you get Seller Plus for several reasons and you can read more about how it helped me reach Top Rated Seller in this article:

But specifically to this article, the Top Keywords and the Keyword Research Tool will be invaluable in helping you to:

  • Analyse and optimise your current gig(s)
  • Research keywords for new gigs to give you the best chance of gaining impressions

When all is said and done; if the $29 per month you pay for Seller Plus allows you to generate several hundred to several thousand dollars per month in revenue then it is a hugely worthwhile investment!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this article. If you got value from it, I’d really appreciate it if you could give me a clap and follow me, it really helps me to grow as a writer on Medium!

If you have any questions, just leave me a comment and I will come back to you!

See you soon,

Christian
