Do not always be a price taker. As much as we all enjoy being consumers, find away to be a producer

There is always something you wish you could afford, we all have those thoughts in our head but some have more things than others.

There are however fewer people who think more about being able to produce something than those who want to buy something.

When you see a new company in your area do you ask how you can work there or who owns the company? Those two questions really determine the kind of person you are, not in a negative way.

Long term

I have come to realise that having a desire to be a producer and thinking of being a producer more frequently than I think of being a buyer has a long term impact on my productivity.

Producer mindsets invest in things that make money. They still buy but the things they buy are assets in the sense that they are used to produce things they can sell.

Consumer mindset
However the consumer mindset buys things than cannot be sold or can only be sold after factoring in depreciation meaning you get a loss when you sell them.

Do not get me wrong, we all need those things we cannot re-sell at a profit. For instance we all may need a car, a television, a bed and others which cannot be resold at a profit.

However there are some who entirely or almost entirely think of buying things that do not generate revenue. This mindset dominates most people well into their adulthood and they get shocked when they end up poor.

Friends

Many of the times its all about changing friends, if your friends are always discussing buying things that do not generate revenue and have no good ideas then its time to change them.
As much as we are accustomed to being consumers, finding a away to be a producer helps us to balance our life financially so that we are not always price takers.
