I started writing for NewsBreak in September of 2022 with little to no info on what does well on the site. For those of you that don’t know what NewsBreak is, imagine Medium but for news and less personal. Kinda bleak, right?

This was definitely a different experience for me since I tend to write more personal pieces. I know most of you want to know how exactly I make 4 figures a month writing 250-word articles and don’t worry I’ll cut to the chase.

Monetization

Before you can get monetized on NewsBreak there are a certain number of criteria that you have to meet. As per NewsBreak:

• 100 registered followers (those that have created an account on NewsBreak)
• 10 articles

Once you’ve met these requirements, you can apply. It can take up to 30 days for them to approve your application.

What do you write about?

Most of the content I write about is in the finance niche; stimulus and relief checks, stocks, etc… Here’s an example:
