Self-publishing is a great way to become an author without putting too much money down. More and more people every year are saturating the market with self-published books, both good and bad ones.

But there is a reason for this. Many people are quickly getting hip to the idea of publishing low content books.

What’s a low content book? Silly bear, it’s the opposite of a high content book of course!

  • Low content books: Books with fewer words or content (coloring books, journals and even crossword puzzles)
  • High content books: Regular books we read (like stories, how-to guides, etc.)

Many people have learned that if they can publish enough low content books and run the right ads to them, they can earn money from it.

While this is somewhat true and has been done before, it’s not the road I’d ever take to self-publishing. Here’s why.

Low content is the lazy route

Instead of writing a book themselves, self-publishers remove that part completely and compete for niches.
