Fiverr is one of the most popular online marketplaces for freelancers. As a seller on Fiverr, your success on the platform depends on your ability to attract clients and maintain positive feedback.

However, if you have noticed a drastic drop in your Fiverr impressions, it can be frustrating and disheartening, leaving you wondering what went wrong and what steps you can take to improve your situation.

In this article, we will explore some common reasons why Fiverr impressions drop and provide tips to help you regain your freelancing success.

What May Cause it?

It may be because of you…

  • Performance Drop: This may be due to factors such as low ratings, late deliveries, or slow communication with clients.

Secret: If you feel any cancellation/late delivery is more from your customer (e.g., change of mind or inadequate information), you can contact Fiverr customer support to remove the impact on your profile.

  • Inactivity: Fiverr prioritizes active sellers who consistently deliver high-quality work. If you are not online most of the time in a day, or haven’t been on the platform for a while, your impressions may drop.
  • Outdated Gig: If your gigs haven’t been updated in a while, they may become not fit current market demand and be less appealing to new clients. Updating your gigs to keep them relevant and competitive regularly is essential.

However, it may not be because of you…

  • The Gig Rotation: When a seller creates a gig on Fiverr, it will be displayed for relevant keywords and categories in the search results. “Fiverr Gig Rotation” means that Fiverr will periodically change the visibility of a seller’s gig on Fiverr’s marketplace. This is done by Fiverr automatically.
  • Change of Fiverr Algorithm: Fiverr’s algorithm is designed to match buyers with the most relevant and high-quality gigs based on various factors. When Fiverr changes its algorithm, it can significantly impact how Gigs are displayed in search results and can affect the visibility and ranking of a seller’s gig. You can update your gig title, description and tags to improve your ranking.
  • You just earned a New Badge: Fiverr offers a system of badges to recognize the achievements and contributions of its sellers. I know the drop of impression after a new badge seems strange; but once you get a new badge, you will compete with a new pool of sellers. I noticed this quite a few times from my fellow freelancers.

If it is because of those, please be patient and do your excellent work. It will be rewarding soon.

What Can I do:

A. Check on Those Now:

  • If your gig is active: When your gig impression decreases drastically, you can check if the gig is still active on the platform first. The gigs can be paused by Fiverr when it is under review, have some violation, or Fiverr category it as “low quality.” If so, check with Fiverr customer support to solve the issue.
  • How is your performance data: Fiverr performance data refers to the metrics and statistics that Fiverr uses to evaluate the performance of a seller’s account and Gigs. The metrics include “response time,” “order completion,” “ratings,” etc. Fiverr performance data is essential for sellers to monitor and optimize to ensure that they maintain a high level and attract more buyers. By tracking their performance metrics and making improvements as needed, sellers can increase their earnings and grow their business on the platform.
  • Is there any outdated information: If your gig hasn’t been updated in a while, it may become outdated and less appealing to clients. Updating your gig to keep it relevant and competitive regularly is important. Also, check on your gig images and videos to fit the current market demand.

B. Short Term:

  • Stay online more: As a Fiverr seller, keeping your account active and online is crucial to building and growing your business. It helps the algorithm by staying online, and new customers are more likely to contact online sellers for prompt responses.
  • Contact former clients: Contact your former clients to see if they still need any work done. Consider offering limited-time discounts to them and get a few orders.
  • Update your profile: When the Fiverr impression gets low, try updating your profile. This can help their gig to stand out and attract more attention from potential buyers.
  • Check and adjust your SEO strategy: When updating your Fiverr profile, gig title and description, etc., Use your researched SEO keywords to increase the chances of your gig being discovered by potential buyers. Meanwhile, use high-quality images and videos to showcase your work and make your gig stand out.
  • Offer coupons: As a Fiverr seller, offering coupons to buyers is a great way to incentivize purchases, encourage repeat business, and reward loyal customers.
  • Offer faster delivery time: When your Fiverr order is low in a certain period, you can try offering fast delivery time to attract more buyers, especially when they have a tight deadline. Delivering quality work within a short period can help you build a positive reputation on the platform.
  • Promote on social media: Promoting your Fiverr services on social media can effectively reach a wider audience and attract new clients. It also helps the algorithm when there are more visits than before.

C. Long Term:

  • Diversify your income source: As a freelancer on Fiverr, diversifying your income sources is important to minimize risks and increase revenue. You can offer services on Other Platforms, promote with your website, start a social media, etc.
  • Continuously offering good service: Offering good service on Fiverr is crucial for building a solid reputation, attracting repeat clients, and increasing earnings. Though your traffic may fluctuate from time to time, your effort will be paid off in the end!
