YouTube Update: 15,000 views in 2 months. Here’s what I learned
Will YouTube be my new side hustle?
I started a YouTube video for fun nearly two months ago. My plan was not to monetize it or even grow it. It’s just a platform to house videos of my dog so they don’t take up cloud storage on my phone.
I’ve tried to garner traction on YouTube on different channels for years with little success. So, naturally, videos of my puppy with minimal editing effort are getting thousands of views.
When I say minimal video editing, I mean no editing. I downloaded CapCut and haven’t opened the app once.
Here’s how my creative process for YouTube videos goes:
- Do an activity with my dog (take a walk, get him groomed, etc.)
- Record said activity
- Post
It’s a perfect 3-step strategy for success, in my opinion. Here’s what I’ve learned so far.
