It is really important to give and take a real deadline. A real deadline creates both sense of urgency and responsibility. It is team’s responsibility to ship at the right time. If you don’t trust your team’s capability, you cannot earn team’s trust. Unrealistic deadline demotivates and creates negativity. One missed deadline leads to other and another, later deadlines are considered just another date.
