Your story wasn’t accepted into the publication.

Really, again?

Maybe I’m just not made for this. I should choose something different. Something, that is not filled with moments of rejection.

I’ve submitted to dozens of different publications, always with the belief that the story I submitted, was the best I had written so far.

My masterpiece. The one I put so much effort into. And suddenly, there comes the next E-Mail flying in, saying that my story wasn’t accepted, and reminding me that I’d been wrong yet again.

A week ago, I found myself defeated. No motivation left. Nothing, but the intention to quit.

But then, there was this other side of me. This ambitious guy, who always tells me to get my shit together and stop whining around. Tells me I should stand up, wipe off the dust, and keep going.

Maybe he is right.

And there I was, looking through those of my articles, that had been published by major publications, relentlessly searching for a pattern. Something that stands out.
