She can’t stay away. But she will regret not leaving in time.

She showed up at his door unannounced that morning, rather giddy, as if she was getting away with something. Her smile immediately put one on his face as he let her in. This was the challenge — scheduling things with Jo without a phone. He had gotten off shift and come home less than an hour earlier and had jumped into the shower right away. Working as a paramedic wasn’t the cleanest of jobs. Luckily, she hadn’t shown up while he was still under the stream of water and unable to hear the doorbell.

“Is it stupid that I just had to see you?” She beamed up at him, wrapping her arms around his neck as soon as the door was closed.

“Not at all.” He wrapped his arms around her waist in reply, warmth surging through him at the mutual feeling.

Their lips met in a long, deep kiss and he inhaled her scent, pulling her closer to him.

“I might be getting a little clingy.” She looked down towards his chest, brushing a hand over the damp curls there. He had only a pair of mesh shorts on, having had no plans on leaving the house at the moment.
