Episode One: Social Media and Politics

The Social Buzz loosely follows the Facebook news beat on my this site, while diving into more broad topics. The Social Buzz is categorized as a news and entertainment podcast. I bring in different guests each week to talk about relevant events and issues in our country. With the presidential election taking place today, I interviewed my own sister, a first time voter, about her thoughts on the election and the ways that social media plays a role as well. The Social Buzz is also devoted to listening to and spreading the views of younger generations on our platform. This site believes in the importance of hearing new voices and ideas.

Our target audience is high school and college students. Our goal is to take current topics and discuss them in a casual and comfortable environment. In order to build and keep our audience, The Social Buzz will have to remain relevant and consistent with promoting our show on all social media platforms. Marketing is very important to our site. The podcast will also post weekly teasers each week on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter for grab attention for upcoming episodes. As for technical equipment, the show will require Adobe Audition (the preferred editing software), a professional studio microphone for recording and a soundproof room (or one close enough to). All of these tools will help The Social Buzz reach its full quality and potential as a fresh and engaging news podcast.
