Open Mics Keeping Art Alive
If you are an artist of any concentration, you know how hard it can be to show people who you are.
For musicians, not everyone has the bucks to record their newest album. Nor is it easy to book a venue and get over 100 people to show up just for you- not when you’re just starting out.
That’s why Open Mics are the perfect venue for new musicians. You have a guaranteed audience, when an Open Mic is executed well. You also have the oppurtunity to find that drummer or lead guitar you’ve been looking for. Its a space where music is fully appreciated and artist can really network.
Bella Love in Cornelius, North Carolina hosts an Open mic every 1st and 2nd Thursday. Social Shoppe was at the last one and can report that Bella Love executed the night wonderfully. There was cheap locally brewed beer and great talent. From the beginning of the night, until the end, there was something for everyone. We will definitely be at the next one.
