Pixels and Inches

In any creative endeavour, the final outcome is only ever as good as the team that worked on it and how much that team is prepared to sacrifice and give to it. It has long been said that that the best team make the best products, and that is something we deeply believe in.

The iconic speech by Tony D’Amato (Al Pacino) in 1999’s Any Given Sunday, I believe, can apply to any kind of team activity, and about what it takes to build, and how it feels to part of a great team, even when you’re tired exhausted and motivation to continue is slipping away.

The differences between good products and great products is in the tiniest of details, the inches that D’Amato describes, and they are hard to find, and margins between good and great is tiny, but we know that those details, that care, does all add up and it makes the fucking difference.

I would like to think the Experience Team at Space Ape Games is just like the fictional Miami Sharks, because when I look to my left and my right I see a person who will go that inch with me, who will sacrifice themselves for this team because they know when it comes down to it, I’ll do the same thing for them.
