It is a little strange interviewing myself however I enjoyed the process. It was like having an alter ego. Don’t we all have internal dialogue anyway? I just had a unique opportunity to externalize it.

What do you do in TheSparkOne project?

Right now I am helping TheSparkOne project as Community Manager working on content marketing and customer development. The beauty of working with TheSparkOne project is that I believe it takes on the personality of the cofounder, Hui Huang. She is passionate so first of all, she believes in talents have great skills and their passion. As leaders, we need to continuously bring the best out of talent and influence each other in companies and communities. This requires leaders are willing to interact with talents more like mentors less like managers. When talents and leaders can work together in a safe and innovative environment, trust can be truly built and effective outcomes can be quickly produced. We have talked about this adaptive and transparent approach that always make me think what I can contribute now and what I want to grow into. I pride myself in being flexible, diversified, and open minded and I am glad TheSparkOne team culture really connect with me. It keeps me engaged in growing. I am grateful.

How were you attracted to the crypto-blockchain space?

About 5 years ago I literally just overheard a stranger say one word…Bitcoin. I was able to hear just one word for whatever reason. Had I got to talking with that person I would have been a convert then. As it happened, I stumbled across cryptos again only in August of 2017. I have been captivated by it everyday since. There is not a day that I don’t educate myself on this transformational technology and transformative impact on our industries, economics and society. I’m an optimist and looking forward to seeing virtual currencies and other innovative technologies offer the world a better way of life.

Tell me something about your experiences in this industry.

Well, by just attending conferences, meetups, et cetera, I know the industry is moving at light speed. I have met some great thought leaders in the industry. My mind is blown apart when I think of the near future. I had a chance meeting with Hui. We were standing in line and just started talking. We finally were able to sit for a while and I really felt the passion for her project. We kept in touch and I was fortunate to connect with the philosophy of the project. I belong to some private investment clubs which has really opened my spirit to cryptos and blockchain projects. There are way more opportunities than we can imagine if we are able get that inside information. I’m lucky and hopefully will always stay abreast. The learning curve is steep especially in maintaining a sound investor mindset, portfolio, and network.

What do you think TheSparkOne project will be talked about in social media in 5 years or so.

If our team executes the action list on our roadmap, TheSpark. One project will be where entrepreneurs, enterprises, academia, children, and grandmas go to when they want to inspire, organize, activate, and validate their noble thoughts. It will be the way people will be effective in making the difference that they were meant to be. The impact on the world will ultimately be a more loving, compassionate, thoughtful, and fulfilling world. You can’t put a price on impact of realized potential or actualization. Purpose and meaning is what every human being desires.

What are some of the roadblocks that the crypto-blockchain face to gain mass adoption.

There are criteria that has to be met and some aspects are ahead of others. Security, privacy, transactional speed, scalability, use case, user interface, and user experience must blend in a perfect marriage. Innovation in all these areas are happening at a sonic speed. We don’t hear of it because the main media channels are paid for by big money. They control the fear. Out of all these the two that stand out are user experience and use case. Basically, if the least tech savvy person can’t use it, you lose the majority of people. If there is no utility or value of the crypto-blockchain service and/or project, then people will not use it. The other important criteria will all work in the background to make it work seamlessly. If the credit card you use right now didn’t have the features working in the background, you wouldn’t use it. This is still a very young asset class and technology. Only about 1–5% of all projects will still be around in a few years. Crem dela crem rises to the top in any industry. Fierce competition brings about the best products and services. Finally, there is top down and bottom up forces. The first is the institutional money and legacy corporations making sure they make their money because they control the current infrastructure and have the money to build the next infrastructure. Again, they are protecting their interests and want to make the big money. The latter are the average people tipping the critical point by actually using the dapps on their mobile devices. If we use it, it’s because it is easy to use. The more projects that make this happen will help the bottom up force. It will probably be an intersection of these two forces. There will probably be a chain of dynamic events that will make cryptos-blockchain mainstream.

If you were an animal, what would it be?

The white owl. In Hawaii, we believe in animal guardian spirits and the Pueo is my sky spirit. It’s white, wise, nocturnal, and free to see from a different perspective. Hopefully, I fulfill what it stands for. I’m often described as a very calm person. Anyone who know me knows that my passions are anything but calm. I’m always fueled by passion and compassion for other people and planet Earth.
