First of all just to make it crystal clear, digital marketing itself can be used as an invaluable tool in gaining business growth.

However the dirty secret is not how marketers fulfil the occupation, it’s how they are used to gain business success.

Why businesses think about digital marketing to begin with?

Most companies look at marketing when their business is dwindling or they see profits marginalised and in some cases watching the business plato and become stagnant in growth.

What they see is a patch, fix or silver bullet!

Their real vision is really the optimised funnel after the hard work has been done and not what is really required to obtain that vision of success.

So what are they failing to see?

From my own experiences as a digital marketer someone hiring you is looking for quick results from something that is not really working.

Now as i write this i realise this is not a blanket statement for all businesses or for the people that run them.

But for me it seems to be one in five companies that really understand the commitment and work ethic involved to see this calamitous shift.

Why? Simple!

Nobody wants to see the failure or mediocrity they are languishing in, even if it’s just on the surface level.

They want to seize the moment from a skillset they don’t have or yet understand.

So what do they miss?

A combination of marketing requirements and teachings, what every business needs to understand is that the hard work is in the complete change of telemetry that is required to adapt and succeed.

Another key misinterpretation is the cost, time and freedom that needs to be at the forefront of any business owners mind, they must be prepared and open for change.

So what part of the process do they need to see?

In reality there is no true path to success as trends shift and things change, but there are solid formulas that will tip the odds in your digital favour.

So where do you want to start?

  • Strategy, mission, SWAT analysis
  • Data Analysis
  • Market research and surveys
  • Alignment of previous steps
  • Keyword Research
  • Information architecture and taxonomy
  • User journeys and profiling
  • Content Strategy
  • Content Design

This is just the beginning of any companies journey to robust, targeted and measurable growth.
