Darby dared to dream; her man loved making dreams come true, so it seemed a perfect match. She said she dreamed of having a giant telescope.

She dreamed she’d look through the telescope and see all the stars, but she didn’t know how to make it work

So her men ran to the store and spent $1,000 to surprise her with a fancy telescope.

The telescope included a quote from Henry David Thoreau: “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you’ve imagined. As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler.”

As Josh Billings taught us: “Love looks through a telescope; envy, through a microscope.”

The trouble was that the telescope confused her. She couldn’t figure it out, nor could her man, so the telescope sat in a basement for 17 years, taking up space.
