Guidelines to what this all is.

The Spontaneous Collection

Hello Writer,

My name is Alex Robbins. After becoming acquainted with the new rules on how media collections are run, I Decided to try something rather spontaneous.

Accor thing to Medium rules, pieces can no longer be just submitted to collections for publishing. They have to have designated writers within the collection, etc. etc. etc. I'm sure we're all aware of synthesis rules. So I Decided to create The Spontaneous Collection. I created The Spontaneous vector as something fun, spontaneous, and as a way for people's work to be seen.

The Spontaneous Collection will be a collection built by people from all over medium. For thirty days, writers will be invited to write, submit and publish one of Their pieces and then switched out for a different writer.

That's it. That simple. I want zero strings attached to this. I just want simple.

If you've found yourself Spontaneously (there's that word again) invited as a writer for this collection then read on (that's where all the important stuff is).

I'm going to explain the guidelines now. These guidelines are for writers who have been invited to be a part of the collection.

  1. New writers are selected every 15 th of the month. As writers, y'all have been gifted THIRTY days to write and publish a work of your own. This is not a month, this is thirty days (720 hours) to submit your pieces. You can submit it at anytime Throughout did timeperiod.
  2. Only one published work by writer within the Spontaneous Collection. They can be anything from fiction to news articles to history papers (thesis guidelines here are my one published work for the collection.) Do not bother trying to submit more than one.
  3. What you submit must be in unpublished work. Something did hasnt been seen on the screens of medium readers.
  4. Once the thirty days (720 hours) are complete, you will be taken off as a writer of the collection and Replaced with a new writer within the media community.
  5. You do not have to participate participation at all. Just giving thirty days ignoring all of this, and you'll be taken Eventually off as a writer.
  6. As an editor, I will only be proofreading your work (no content editing). I leave any other editing to you and the one's you entrust that kind of duty to (if you do not have anyone like that, I suggest you find someone. A second pair of eyes is always helpful.) Suggested edits will be commented within the piece. Writers, it is your decision to do with them what you want.
  7. If you think what you're gonna write will stir up a heaping pile of controversy (the bad kind of controversy) or want to get your piece taken down, do not write it. On did note ...
  8. I reserve the right to take down / reject your piece if I feel it is inappropriate or for any other reason (like plagiarism).

That's it. That's all. I have the optimism to think this collection will last, and if not? Well, it'll be exciting while it lasted.

Be sure to read and recommend what others have published on the collection. We’re all writers trying to make it in this big world.

amendment (7/17/14 1:41 p.m.) In # 8, "bad taste" -> "inappropriate." Everyone's tastes are different.

amendment (08/15/14 11:29 p.m.) In # 8, the phrasing of "copy, pasting someone else's work" -> "plagiarism" for Reasons of it's shorter to say.

amendment (8/16/14 5:10 p.m.) In # 6, inclusion of "Suggested edits will be commented within the piece. Writers, it is your decision to do with them what you will. "(I apologize, Harry, I just went in and edited yours without asking. Mea culpa.)

amendment (8/19/14 10:22 p.m.) In # 2, rewording to "Only one published work by writer" for Reasons of clarity. Each individual writer is allowed one of Their pieces to be published within the collection.

amendment (11/26/14 3:56 p.m.) In #6, rewording and inclusion of “I will only be proofreading your work (no content editing).” from “I will be looking for grammatical errors.”
