America, This Isn’t What You Wanted Is It?

It’s damn sure the world didn’t deserve this three-ring circus

An ex-colleague of mine is now a flight instructor. I told him I was thinking of going to New York this year.

“Are you kidding?” he spat. “I just cancelled my yearly holiday to Florida.”

I shrugged the ‘why?’ shrug.

“Trump just got rid of their Aviation Safety Advisory Committee and they’ve already had a crash and a near miss. He’s fucking mad. There’s no way I’m going to America when he’s sacking everyone in Air Traffic Control.”

I knew this already. I wrote about it. The article was well received, except one person commented, ‘Trump is entitled to his opinion.’

Trump is entitled to his opinion.

I agree. Trump, like anyone else, is entitled to his opinion, even if it sounds like he has been sucking on an LSD lollipop. He has the right to free speech. That doesn’t grant him immunity from criticism or repercussions for inaccurate, false, or harmful views.

You don’t improve an organisation by getting rid of well-trained and experienced people and replacing them with untrained propagandized, prejudiced and privileged people…
