How to Get Your Article Published in Any Publication

A checklist for every writer

It’s easy.

• Write a brilliant article
• Follow the publication's formatting guidelines.

(Some want you to put in a kicker, some don’t allow it, most don’t mind.)

Any publication editors reading this will now be rolling on the floor holding their sides, giggling and laughing, because newbies don’t follow guidelines.

I challenge you to get your first article published with no amendments.

Here is a simple guide on how to do it:

1. Put Your Title in Title Font and Title Case

2. Put your subtitle in subtitle font and sentence case

To change the font, use the Medium toolbar (highlight the text you want to change, and it will pop into view). Leave your titles and subtitles punctuation-free; this article explains why.
