Our world needs more magic and miracles right now.

Speaking of miracles, I once read a Facebook post about a father and son who survived a shark attack.

The duo was kayaking off Maui, near a group of whales, when a shark appeared and attacked their vessel. The shark’s assault landed just inches from the father’s leg. It also flipped the kayak, dumping the men in the ocean.

The father tried to dissuade the shark by hitting it with a paddle. The pair righted the kayak, but the shark attacked again, flipping it once more.

The father and son had no choice but to swim to land, fearing the shark would follow them. Already exhausted, they swam slowly but steadily and reached shore in 34 minutes.

They survived the shark attack uninjured. What a miracle!

Do you notice and celebrate miracles like that or overfocus on tragedies at home and worldwide?

I consider their survival an extraordinary miracle. But equally remarkable miracles happen daily.

Just the fact that you were born is a miracle.
