It’s hard to get one’s head around the fact that Alligator Alcatraz and Disney World are in the same state.

And there are lots of retirees, aka Boomers. My husband and I are among them. Many, but not all, are corralled in the Villages.

The Florida Man stories have given the state an undeserved reputation for weirdness. Okay, maybe it’s a little deserved. The palm trees, warm weather, scanty clothes, and beautiful beaches are all part of it. But I love my adopted state. This is my third and final time here.

But this week set a new record for both weirdness and wonderfulness.

My niece is visiting in September, and I researched some activities she might enjoy. She’s an adult, so I was researching things she might want to do besides lie on the beach, which is the only thing she’d mentioned she wanted to do.

In my Facebook feed, I saw an ad for a “Capybara Cafe.” Yes, you read that correctly. I had to check it out…
