My favourite character

As of now, it’s Anne of Green Gables. I’ve been reading the third book, and she’s curing my childhood nostalgia. Or worsening it. I don’t know, but it’s doing something.

My favourite music

I’ve got a pretty varied music taste. Rock, pop, Canto-pop, Chinese pop, jazz and Latin can all be heard from my window. (woah, what are you doing at my window?)

Recently, I’ve been listening to a lot of Laufey, and currently, ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’ is playing.

This is on my mind

Our school is doing a Ted X event, and I signed up as a speaker and did an interview last Wednesday… now I refresh my email every five minutes.

I write about

Technically, anything. I started off all ‘I shall write whatever the hell strikes my fancy’, which I still follow. But I’ve found that I have a thing for writing personal experiences, probably because I’m 14 and don’t have a lifetime's worth of expertise in some field, so all I have to offer you is what I’ve experienced and thought. I also write armchair psychology/philosophy observations.

I love this about Medium

The writing interface is so simple and uncluttered! You don’t need to worry about font, image sizing, text color… thank heavens I didn’t start writing with my own website, or else I would still be customizing everything and never have gotten any writing done.

One thing I’d rather not admit

It wasn’t until I was 12 that I properly realized that you go to university after high school. I kinda knew the way children might ‘know’ about death from a cartoon, but I never really connected the dots till then.

This never ceases to surprise me

How fast I’m growing up! The days seem to slip by faster than an ice skating fish coated in butter. Sometimes, I actually forget the year. Is it 2020? 2022?

My favourite life quote

“Hoping for the best, prepared for the worst, and unsurprised by anything in between. “— Maya Angelou

My greatest weakness

I overthink to an alarming degree. But at the very least, that provides some pretty good writing material.

This makes me laugh

There’s this turtle pond in my school, and every now and then, an adorable little turtle will try to climb out of the water and onto the sand. It’ll painstakingly position its flippers over the edge, scrambling to raise itself up, scrunching its face up into even more wrinkles. At the last moment, it’ll plop back into the water. But they always try again, and it’s an admirable persistence, even if it is funny. Kinda like me trying to get out of the pool.

The last (interesting) thing I googled

‘my wooden pen is growing mold’

What? It was.

Favourite word

Redonkulous is a redonkulously epic word and if you don’t like it, you’re redonkulous too.

Alrightie, thanks for reading, see ya around!
