Trump Did Not Win 2024
The Democrats lost it. And money (campaign funds) won.
I am not often disappointed by my children; I could probably count on one hand the times … I am with my 21-year-old middle daughter at the minute.
And she knows it.
But that too shall pass. It’s tough to stay disappointed when so much they do is uplifting and wonderful.
She is a 21-year-old American female citizen who did not vote. We live in Europe and she is at university in Nottingham. She was born during our stay in the USA.
I begged her to register and vote.
It is tough to vote when you live in another country and are disconnected. But it is no less important. She promised she would. She didn’t. Yes, it’s only one vote … but that’s not the point.
She wrote me yesterday,
“Sorry Dad, I now wish I had voted.”
“Me too,” I replied, “that way you could have said, ‘I did my bit’,”
I do ask myself why so many young white Americans did not support Harris. How many young Americans did what my daughter did?
Surely it’s a big deal when the options are Trump or “B” …
I’ll take “B”!
