Writing on Medium is Fun

Medium is a place for everyone to use as they like

Medium has it all:

Financial wizards, tech consultants, AI experts, and business gurus? Yes!

Artists, humourists, storytellers, and poets? You betcha.

Medium has it all. It has even made me (an introverted non-writer with zero experience on social media) feel like I may have stories to contribute.

I joined Medium in Jan 2024 and kicked up this writing thing in March.

I joined because I wanted to try this writing experiment. I “kicked it up” to build an audience, make connections, and understand “success” for me as a writer — is it money, following, internal validation, or my mom’s love?

I may have failed at the kicking-up bit, but I’ve had fun. And it’s getting even more fun every day!

Why is that? Let’s dive in.

Last month I learnt that:

1. Daily posting is tough. We need to set a frequency that enables us to write from the heart, which is essential for writers. This is different for everyone — for me, it is 2–4 times a week
2. Engage! Medium is a community. Read what others write about, share your thoughts, and promote others. Don’t be selfish
3. Provide value to your readers, not just dry facts
