To you, to me, tomorrow
Ann and Tyler —
Today my day was all about you two.
What an incredible wedding.

I grew up Catholic, raised Catholic. Before attending the ceremony for your wedding I hadn’t been to church for a full service in probably just under a decade. But I found myself reciting the responses, and following along with the words of the priest very naturally.
Taking communion and kneeling for prayer (although my church never knelt) felt like the right thing to do in the moment.

I could not take my eyes off of you two. I watched you both throughout the ceremony. You were in your own, enormous, world. You jabbed each other during the ceremony, Tyler poked you when the priest implied that you were cute, Ann. So in love it makes the rest of us wonder how your hearts have enough space for each other to take up permanent residence.

It’s no secret that I have been in Kansas twice in my life, and the last time was on my trip earlier this summer. I am so glad that I came back. Your wedding was fulfilling. Thank you for letting me be a part of your life, and your lives’ greatest event.

Yours —
IAN
