ABI-LAB is an accelerator and bio-incubator established to support startups, including life science, biotech, medical technology, and medical data companies.

Mission:

Their goal is to facilitate the growth and success of the next generation of entrepreneurs by fostering a vibrant collaborative environment and offering state-of-the-art lab space, best-in-class infrastructure, and the resources to help accelerate their scientific discoveries. ABI-LAB prides itself on offering a community-like atmosphere to its residents; where it’s about being around like-minded people, ideas, and talent.

History of Organization:

ABI-LAB is the brainchild of two industry leaders, Dr. Raphael Nir and Dr. Gary Kaufman, that was brought to life by David Platt in an effort to help foster the next generation of great life-science companies in the New England area. Their goal is to provide mentoring, connect their residents to resources, and offer support in a variety of areas to help minimize any hurdles on the way to critical company milestones.

The Facilities:

Located just 20 miles from Cambridge and Boston, ABI-LAB offers an affordable and convenient alternative in one of the world’s largest life science clusters. The original incubator space, ABI-LAB 1, is home to 18 companies, totals 17,000 square feet and offers best-in-class infrastructure. From private office suites, to common lab benches, ABI-LAB is equipped with everything an entrepreneurial scientist could need to thrive. The team’s latest venture, a 68,000-square-foot bio-incubator called ABI-LAB 2, is currently under development and is expected be completed by year-end 2019.

News:

In Spring 2020 ABI-LAB will host a grand opening celebration for the new 68,000 square foot ABI-LAB 2 incubator. Marking for space in the new building is currently underway. For more information on how to become a part of this thriving biotech community, please email info@abi-lab.com.
