Back At It, A Lyrical Masterpiece

The banter, the donuts, the jokes

It was so good to be around these folks

Yesterday, as a team, we gathered for the first time

I was so excited it led me to this rhyme!

The energy was high, the passion was there

Being remote just doesn’t compare

I wasn’t wearing sweatpants, so it felt very formal

It also felt a little like a return to normal

We talked about sports like we were Skip Bayless

We lovingly made fun of the one and only Mike Vailas

But over time even normal can feel a bit strange

And being back at it reminded me of all that had changed

We faced a wild year and as a result became stronger

We learned to tighten our belts and hold on just a little bit longer

Those are good lessons for anyone in startup life

When you’re in a shootout, don’t bring a knife

Everyday there’s a new problem you’ve got to be solving

It’s why you’re either dying or you’re evolving

So no need to over romanticize the past

Yesterday was a fleeting moment that will not last.

Look to the future and redefine the new norm

Do that and there will be no limits on how you perform

So here’s to a brighter and even stronger tomorrow

Where we reach new heights, even higher than Kiliminjaro!
