The Pop Quiz, Monday is a fun little exam that we love to give to savvy business owners. The examination is not a surprise after all since the interviewee already knew about the questions in advance. However, we can always pretend and have fun with the scenario of a young entrepreneur sitting in class nervously biting on their pencil. They are ready to take a pop quiz on a chapter that they were supposed to read the night before. Instead, they played Metroid all night on their SNES (Oops, this was me in high school). The real purpose of the pop quiz is that this is a fun way to introduce business tips from real-world experiences that you can not learn in a classroom. We want to thank our entrepreneur for being a good sport and volunteering their time to answer a few questions to help our community grow from their knowledge.

I want to introduce you to our guest today who will be taking our Pop Quiz Monday.

Can you please tell everyone your name?

Lorrie Thomas Ross

What is your job role?

CEO and The Marketing Therapist®

Tell us about your company?

Web Marketing Therapy, Inc. specializes in strategic advisory, training, and marketing management, helping organizations get on the right path for success via our relationship-focused, therapeutic approach.

What do you love most about your job?

I love helping passionate professionals brand, build and boost business.

What motivates you to get up every day and go to work?

People. I love people first and foremost. I am inspired by the amazingly talented professionals I serve and my amazing team who is so fun and fabulous to work with.

How do your co-workers inspire you?

My coworkers are all so interesting — they all have interests that shape them personally, and they are all so dedicated to relationships — friends, family, their communities.

How do you have fun at work (team building, pranks, etc..)?

Web Marketing Therapy is a virtual business, so we don’t see each other for years at a time sometimes. We use a lot of memes, images, and emojis to show our emotions. We all have strong senses of humor, we crack a lot of jokes, and we are SO REAL with each other. We get raw. I consider my team family!

What are some of the challenges of your job?

Trying to do it all. My company is all about service, and there are days when clients have to wait, and I hate that. But I am always reminded that we always make our clients feel like they are a big client, no matter how small and I love that.

What are some lessons learned from a past project that you can share with us?

Quick and dirty is always quick, but you always end up dirty. In our world of web and social posts and high visibility ads, we have to be mindful of deadlines but still focus on quality over quantity. We use that quick and dirty line to shush clients who want it NOW NOW NOW, they hear that and get it…

What advice would you give to someone who is starting in your industry?

Do what you do best and hire others to do the rest. When I was a one-woman show, it was too much. You need a team to support you.

Thank you for taking our pop quiz today. You get an A+ for effort. You can learn more about our interviewee and their business by visiting them on the web:
