IncuBus Retail have partnered with Camden Market, London’s leading market destination to create the Startup Department Store. The space will host 10 of the finest up and coming food & beverage and fashion brands.
Startups who are successful in their application to the IncuBus Retail incubator programme starting in May, will receive their own stall in the market from day 1!
Teams will be able to showcase their product and engage with customers within the market which sees over 20,000 visitors a day. The startup department store provides a unique opportunity to test the market, receive feedback, build case studies and generate revenue.
IncuBus Retail are looking for passionate teams, determined to shape the future of retail in any of the following:
• Food and Beverage products
• Emerging fashion brands
• Retail Tech
The teams that demonstrate the most progress during the 12 weeks, will also have the opportunity to take up a high footfall premium spot backed by Camden Market.
The programme also provides retail technology startups the opportunity to test their product or services in the market.
For the food and beverage vertical, IncuBus have partnered with The Food Foundry, a London based food incubator. The Food Foundry will be able to offer the food & beverage brands on the programme access to kitchen space, enabling on site production, as well as all the key ingredients to get their products onto shelves. With a strong network of industry specialists and partners, The Food Foundry are able to provide dedicated support to help develop and grow our food & beverage startups.
ASOS, who are leading the digital transformation in the fashion industry are on board to help support the growth of the fashion brands that join the Retail programme. They will help close the gap between offline and online, and open up the sales channels available to our startups.
Our third vertical, retail tech, will be supported by Market Tech (owners of Camden Market), a unique platform combining the iconic market and e-commerce. With a strong background of investing in technology businesses and a vested interest in Camden Market, teams will benefit from their expertise and the opportunity to pitch for investment.
The programme is designed to ensure startups find product/market fit and maximise growth over the 12 weeks. During that time, participants get access to customers, mentors, partners and investors to ensure they can continue their growth after graduating the programme.
Whilst the growth of online shopping is prevalent, offline is not going to go away anytime soon. Shopping is still a day out for many; this is especially seen in Camden. When it comes to food, beverages and fashion, consumers still want to feel, touch and taste what they are purchasing and not have to pay for and wait on delivery. The IncuBus Retail programme helps maximise offline and online capabilities to ensure the startups have the potential to become the next global brands.
The programmes mentoring and workshop sessions will be run from Camden’s latest co working space Interchange Triangle. Startups will also have access to hot desking in the beautiful space overlooking London’s skyline.
The Startup Department Store space will open alongside the start of the IncuBus Future of Retail programme on May 16th 2016. Applications are open until April 10th.
IncuBus does not take equity. To cover costs associated with the 12-week programme there is a £3600, inc. VAT.
