While spending cuts left Rome covered in bird poo and cows fell from the sky in Cornwall, the rest of the world was watching Chinese drones take flight. There were still a few eyes on court documents detailing former Italian PM Silvio Berlusconi’s sex parties — but hopefully those pages don’t have herpes like the erotic fiction in the library. Non-erotic free hugs were enough to get two men arrested in Riyadh while Ukrainians offered absolutely no public displays of affection for their government. And in Wales, a small village is making a stink about its potentially smelly name.
