Why do we need a blog about Urban Travel? I’m kind of tired of travel blogs.

That’s a good question. Like we don’t already have enough travel blogs, right? Don’t get me wrong, some travel blogs are really good. But are you really tired of the regular ones or just uninspired because they’re all so similar? This one’s different. How many of you read regular travel blogs and feel that even though they have great entertainment value, most of them you can’t really relate to, because you get to travel perhaps only a few times a year, because of, well… life, work, family, responsibilities.

But what many of us don’t realize is that travel, in its essence doesn’t have to be a yoga retreat in Bali, a safari in Kenya, a beach vacay in Zanzibar, or a trek to the top of Machu Picchu. Travel is, simply put, you moving from point A to B, and doing it with a purpose of getting there. Getting to work in the morning, carpooling your kid, getting back home, going to get the milk from the corner store, going out at night, those meetings you have to get to that take place way too far from your office. You name it, if you’re moving from A to B in an urban space, there you have it — you’re an urban traveler. And this blog is for you.

Your second question probably is, what an earth is there to write about urban travel. Oh don’t get us started! So much technology, old a new, saving time and money, saving the environment, city planning, changing perceptions, mobility, changing policies, helping people, helping businesses, being a more productive, responsible human being, and everything in between.

If you’re living in a city, pretty sure you’ll find something interesting here. And if you don’t do let us know what you’d love to read about. We’re just getting started, and we need all the help we can get in making it an awesome blog for everyone.

If this blog does anything, we hope it will make you look at your city and how you move in it in a more knowledgeable, inspired way. We sure have.

Our first post was actually published a little while back already. It’s about ebikes. Why? Because we feel like you can’t swing a dead cat by the tail and not hit one of these nifty gadgets in a city nowadays. So let’s see what they’re all about.

We hope you enjoy this ride!
