Acceptance

This tree
It’s so pretty
In full bloom
It’s white petals
Attracting all sorts
Of insect and birds
Humans too seem
They can’t get enough
Lads on bikes, music blurring
Quiet pensioners come strolling!
But this tree,
Who knows it’s story
The way it had to
Reach up despite
Pests and elements
When it’s cold and dark
It accepts its bareness
When it has grown blossoms
It also accepts the attraction.
This tree teaches so much
Just by its presence!
To be still and grounded
Even when you are
In bloom and people want to
Know you, your success is
Attractive, your beauty
Is addictive.
But then inevitably there are times
When you will be alone in the cold
People may forget you and many
Of those friends disappear.
Trees teach us about acceptance
Of Life’s seasons and yet
Provide sustenance.
