AND THE MUSE?

Propped against a painty wall

the good beginning lists

and begs

“give me life today —

paint me!”

Where is the muse

the feline muse?

Watching at the window now —

some starling

full of energy.

“You called?”

a lissome snake slides by

and whispers “See?

you can’t today

you never do —

Trust me.”
