As Buddha Smiles
They started a little after 7 a.m.
Chain saws buzzing
Bodies hitting the ground.
Sky Goddess cries out
As it thunders and tears
Pour from the sky.
One hour
Two hours
Three hours
Four hours
Buzz saw thumping bodies
Shaking Earth.
Another crash of thunder
Another tree
Cries and falls
More tears flowing from the sky
As chain saws
Keep buzzing and buzzing
Five hours
Six hours
The hearts of
Twenty trees stop beating.
Eleven remain.
Buddha smiles
In Love
Compassion
And infinite Wisdom
Among the fallen limbs.
We will learn in our own time
One person by one person by one person,
The value of kindness
Nurturing and Compassion
For all sentient beings.
Women will lead the way
And men will love
Their feminine qualities
And follow women
Who love and cherish
Earth.
And then, the buzzing that we hear
Will be happy bees and humming birds
Spreading love from plant to plant
Nurturing food
That nurtures our bodies
And our children’s bodies
And our children’s children’s bodies…..
Buddha smiles
Resting in equanimity
On the razor’s edge.
The bow strings are neither
Too tight nor too loose.
All is as it is
As we learn to softly walk in balance
On Mother Earth.
Today is National Love a Tree Day,
May 16th, 2018
I sold my house a couple of weeks ago and today, they cut trees down. The 25+ year old rose bush is still there for the time being.
