Cold air has taken its autumnal grip,
the cat annoyed with cracked only windows,
the frosted garden remnants
glisten under morning rays,
foxglove and marigold
blooms still brighten,
barely heard pitter patters
of leaves leisurely landing,
dew drops fall upon my brow from overhead branches ,
walking, invigorating breaths, then,
echoing shotgun blasts
as squirrels and rabbits scatter.
