Brand New

New Day at Acadia

Whether it be

with confetti & glee,

A midnight kiss,

at a moments bliss,

A toast of champagne,

as the night did wane,

Or as one slept,

or maybe wept,

No matter the welcome,

the waiting, & then some,

It did appear, this brand new year.

A new morning to wake

with new choices to make.

Another day to give

Adding meaning to “live”

We need not the NYE institution

Of making a personal resolution,

for we are greeted each and every day,

with the chance to change in some new way.
