Claims About Poverty Are Much Exaggerated

Many people swear that claims about poverty are exaggerated. No one really starves or dies of cold, unless they choose to do so. There are soup kitchens in every city. In winter the homeless can always find refuge in some city shelter. I have tried to represent these truths mathematically.
