Dear old soul light worker

If you are weary

Of the ways of the world

And you have grown

Tired of all the conflicts

That you retreat

You have learnt the hard way

To carry your light

With a protective guard

And yet keep open your heart

For love to flow through you

To you and others.

This is the duality that people

Around you may misunderstand

They see you and yet don’t see you

Because you need to protect

That part of you which is divine

As that is what is truly precious

And what as a light worker you

Have to use wisely

On the other hand

Your heart is always open

And ready to be broken

In fact has been millions of times

From the plight of this world

For the dolphins and street kids

To the endangered species and communities

But as still your heart breaks

It’s your light that sustains

All efforts and desires

For a greater good

That you can work silently towards

Both in your prayers and your actions

Yes you are an old soul light worker

If you work silently without seeking

Any admiration or reward

You feel fulfillment in the small things

Of beauty and nurturing

You don’t have to save the world

Just know you too have a role

And a place in this drama

To bring a little light and a little joy

You can be noble without looking the part.

You are an old soul light worker if

Others misunderstand and fill your silence

With all kinds of stories about you

Because they haven’t seen such an authentic sight.

And you let others misunderstand you

Because that is not your point

Of being or doing.

You are here to do your soul’s bidding

Until you have learnt whatever you

Came here to learn.

You may feel lonely at times

Like no one truly sees or really cares

Because you too need your soul tribe

That is when you need to step out

With your bare feet on the grass

Feel Gaia

Holding you quite literally

You’ll feel her love and the birds

And butterflies will dance all around you

To tell you yes you too are dearly loved.

Please continue to do your life’s work

And if others come and want to give you a hand.

Do let them.

For we are all just learning.

And share your knowledge freely

They may need some nourishment

But remember to accept also

Others’ nourishment too.

You don’t always have to be the giver

The superior one.

Be happy and grateful to receive the kindness of this world too at times.

It’s not easy for such a one as you

But know that it will restore you

It does not always mean that others have

A power over you.

Old soul light worker your light is

Deeply needed and appreciated at this time.

From all those that are hidden and unseen

But in your heart are felt and known

To be true.
