I know it’s true

what they tell us

about the stars we see in the sky

which may no longer be there

that what we’re seeing are rays of light

they emitted billions of years

before they imploded

only reaching us now.

I know it’s true

because the waves of the melodies

I heard when I was a child

(many many years ago)

kept on travelling

and will often enter my ears

and sing to my brains

interminably

incessantly.
