I like to be reminded

This day is all we’ve got,

With blood and pain and lessons learned,

This freedom has been bought.

Never let the current noise

(Or news) that deafens, change a thing,

This freedom’s stronger than the whims,

Of one sick boy who would be king.

Be the best I can this day,

Lead with all I can command;

Don’t give in to fear of hate,

Just castles built on shifting sand.
