In a Dawn Hour

In a dawn hour
As shedding of the first rays
Warmed the eyes nearing the
End in the burns of the bleak,
A moment revealed
As proverbial, as fleeting
As alive, as secluded…
Like last embers
Thawing the frosted limbs,
Flooding the red warm blood,
A sound reviving the tears
For forgotten memories
Of forgotten loss
Taken somewhere I didn’t cross.
An air lifting the shrunken lungs
That breath underground
As songs unsung.
The moment fleet
As last bees depart,
Before gaze closed on
For purest shred I could hold
Of life descending apart…
Then gone, as meant
To return toward
the destined…
