NOT SUCH A BAD LIFE

It’s not

such a bad life

forlorned by an excessive need of repair,

the stunning body-mind connection

is sort of a wealth of being,

a distinct covenant of guarantees

between our ever prideful selves

and

that of a higher power.

smiling promises gathered like common wildflowers

resting in a handmade basket of twine

seeking the proud light of a noontime sun

and

yet happy

with the reflection of a summer moon.

.

no…

it’s not

such a bad life

as the beating heart itself exceeds

the many twisted vines of small destinies

embraced by the sweet kissing

of mischievous fate

while framed by the actions of thought,

all of it hanging by a short nail

pounded in place

along a north wall of lifelong accomplishments,

no doubt a favorite spot of everyone

in this formidable house of cards,

this place, this planet

we seek to call our home

in this our bodies,

like spacesuits for our souls

flying through in what we like to call

not such a bad life.

.

.
