Playground VI
Watching Irma with the Muse
Here is Sketchbook Page 20, scribbled during the landfall of Hurricane Irma into Naples Florida.
I won’t pretend that Lucy was actually posing (try to get a cat to pose! Ha.)
But she has been here dozing during several days of pretty constant TV jabbering about something that isn’t musical at all. She doesn’t get anxious about such things. (but the wicked squirrels at the birdfeeder make her very anxious, in which case I must go outside and make menacing gestures with the push broom. It spoils the antic wonder-cat behavior.)
So I used a rare photo of her looking right at me — obtained by sounding like a very small kitty, which gets her to look directly at where my eyes should be — but my eyes are hiding behind the camera so it’s a matter of speedily meowing and clicking after spending a lot of time focusing.
That is the output of the day.
My relatives on the “left coast” of Florida are still not out of the danger zone, but the storm has become less fierce, at least for now.
We have not had news yet about the damage or the terrible flooding, but we need a nap now.
Thank you kind reader, for allowing us to post cute kitty doodling. Help me send hopes for stalwart courage for those afflicted in Florida and elsewhere by Irma, and also for the victims of the terrible Mexican 8.1 magnitude earthquake that hardly was mentioned on American TV.
