I. “Professor” Richard Risley Carlisle was the Barnum of his age. He was a real innovator and enterprising showman. He was the creator of the famous Risley Act which consisted of lying on one’s back and juggling a child with the feet. This was later extended toddling the same thing with chairs, knives etc…
