I sometimes work as a volunteer at the local charity shops. Last week I was behind the counter at the Marie Curie Shop and someone donated a pile of books. My job is to price the items, stick a tag and find space for them on the shelf. I noticed

that one of the items was a completed book of The Daily Telegraph Crossword. My manageress said to get rid of it, but I managed to raise £1 for our charity. I priced it at £1, and put a sticker on the cover: BUY THE BOOK PUT IT ON YOUR COFFEE TABLE AND IMPRESS YOUR GUESTS. It was gone within 24 hours.
